Cameroon Foot Washing & Medical

Cameroon Missions TripDates: January 15 – February 1, 2012

Following a day of orientation in Merritt Island,Florida, you will travel to Orlando for your flight toDulles International Airport in our nation’s capital,WashingtonD.C. Your next flight crosses theAtlantic OceanEurope, the Mediterranean Sea and then over the Sahara Desert to Addis Ababa,Ethiopia. The team will continue the next morning toDoualaCameroon.

From Douala your team buses 225 miles north to the Teen Missions in Cameroon BiBle, Missionary, & Work (BMW) Training Center in Nsongwa, located near Bamenda. After a day to repack, you will head six hours into the bush to Cameroon’s newest Rescue Unit in Gom.

The first thing you will notice is hundreds of children running around their modest mud block homes. The needs are great in this area and you will be making a big difference as you wash feet and give these children their first pair of new shoes.

There will be daily opportunities to help the facilitators with medical treatments, to play with the children and read them Bible stories. The medical needs are great in this area as the children often have severe wounds, worms in their feet and knees, skin infections and childhood illnesses. Treatment is as necessary as the hugs and smiles that orphans often do not receive.

Housing will be in tents; bathing and laundry will be done using a bucket. There will be a day of shopping for items to take home as a reminder of your time in Cameroon. On your return to the U.S. you will stop in RomeItaly for refueling.
